By-products
High opportunity and high capacity. Closed-loop processes and recycling broaden NLMK’s product portfolio and drive new high-quality offerings based on reprocessed materials. Our by-product mix contains over 200 products and services, all characterized by NLMK's consistent high-quality standards.
We continuously expand our product mix, enhancing properties, characteristics, and technologies annually. This enables our customers to find economically viable alternatives for conventional materials. As we launch new useful products for our customers, we make a joint contribution to environmental protection.
Recycled products
NLMK Group treats all products generated by its operations with exceptional care and seeks to reuse all materials wherever possible.
The Recycling Philosophy not only reduces the environmental impacts, but also meets the high demand for advanced products in the construction, agricultural and chemical industries.
Construction substrate
Bulk materials, including crushed stone, sand, and silica. Construction substrate products are widely used in highway building, production of asphalt- and cement concrete, and cement. All products are manufactured in strict compliance with the Russian GOST standards.
Coke chemistry
Chemical recycling products are widely used in the chemical industry.
Fertilizers and ameliorates
This product group includes ammonium sulphate and dolomite powder. Increased yields and suitability for most crops make these products highly efficient in use.
Raw material products
Wide product range, from coke to iron ore products, and a quality guarantee from a vertically integrated steelmaker.
Coke products
BF and foundry coke, coke nut, fines and breeze. NLMK makes high-quality coke products with high CSRs of 63-67% for wet- and dry-quenched coke.
Iron ore feedstock
The plant’s main product is iron ore concentrate (Fe ~67%), sinter ore (~51%), and iron ore pellets (~65%).
Bulk products
These raw materials are extracted at the Group’s captive mines in full compliance with technical and environmental requirements. Bulk materials are widely used in highway construction, production of asphalt- and cement concrete, cement, thermal insulation, etc. All products are manufactured in accordance with the Russian GOST standards.
Machine-building capabilities
A full-cycle division within NLMK: from production of blanks (castings and ingots) or mechanical processing (chemical and thermal treatment, coating) to assembly operations.
