NLMK Calculator: Optimize Aggregate Selection to Fit Your Budget
At the peak of the construction season, NLMK is introducing a tool that calculates the economic effect of using blast-furnace slag aggregate compared with other options.
The calculator shows the cost difference across various materials: BF slag aggregate, limestone, sandstone, crystalline schist, and granite.
As an illustration, here is a typical calculation example for constructing a Category III–IV road base in the Voronezh Region (within a 200 km radius of Lipetsk).*
The primary economic benefit comes from the material’s bulk density. This parameter directly affects the cost estimate: BF slag aggregate is lighter than natural counterparts thanks to its porous structure and composition.
Material | NLMK's BF aggregate | Limestone | Sandstone | Crystalline shale | Granite |
Size, mm | 0–70 / 0–80 | 0–80 | 0–80 | 0–80 | 0–80 |
