NLMK has mastered the production of hot-rolled products with diamond grooving

NLMK Group has started producing rolled products with rhombic corrugation. It is in demand in the production of anti-slip coatings, components for various types of transport, as well as in finishing and interior work.

The grooving is carried out using special rolling rolls, which are installed in the finishing group of the mill 2000 crates at the Novolipetsk Steel Plant. Fluting increases the mechanical resistance of the surface to abrasion, increases the rigidity of the sheet, reducing the susceptibility to deflections and the likelihood of damage from impacts or frequent loads. Rolled products are used to create fences and molds for reinforced concrete structures and roofing.

Diamond-shaped protrusions on the corrugated sheets provide increased grip on shoes or vehicle wheels. Therefore, rental is also used on stairs in factories, in public transport, in the subway, at the entrances to supermarkets, transport, in swimming pools and saunas. At the same time, its aesthetic appearance makes it in demand for the exterior and interior cladding of residential buildings and industrial facilities.

NLMK produces rolled products of the st2ps/sp and st3ps/sp grades with a thickness from 3.0 to 12.0 mm and a width of 915-1850 mm. At the request of the client, our team may consider the possibility of developing rolling technology for other steel grades, including 09G2C according to GOST 19281, as well as C235/C245/C255/C345/C355 according to GOST 27772.
